As part of the Finishing team, develop, continuously improve, and document proprietary solar module manufacturing processes to achieve high quality product performance, realizing throughput, yield, and product performance goals. Integrate manufacturing requirements into development of new proprietary manufacturing processes unique to First Solar. Evaluate, install, and qualify specialized, First Solar-specific equipment and prevent and resolve day-to-day production, equipment, and process issues, including: tool down issues, yield issues, and quality issues. Design and execute planned process experiments, collecting and analyzing data for proprietary solar product development and manufacturing. Train production associates, technicians, and engineers on complex and new proprietary technologies; ensure proper utilization of equipment and promote continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing six-sigma and specialized statistical problem-solving methods. Develop Process Control and Preventative Maintenance Plans for proprietary solar energy products, equipment, and manufacturing processes. Develop and maintain proprietary drawings, process specifications, and standard operating procedures.The position requires a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in electrical engineering, electronic engineering, or a related technical field and one year of experience in the job offered or in a solar manufacturing setting. All stated experience must include manufacturing solar modules and photovoltaic solutions; specialized equipment troubleshooting; manufacturing process knowledge and data mining; Statistical Data Analysis; Metrology and measurement best practices; writing complete manufacturing documentation; Design of Experiments; applying Statistical Process Control; Structured Problem Solving Method (such as DMAIC); manufacturing processes; generating and maintaining FMEAs; training operators, technicians, and new engineers.Compensation includes a base salary of $80,000 per year to $114,000.
