Job Summary
There is one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidates education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. This role will be located at our Innsbrook facility in Glen Allen, VA.
Dominion Energy's Electric Transmission Field Operations OT Cyber Monitoring Group is seeking a motivated candidate to join our team and support the design, installation, and maintenance of a new Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Control System (ICS) Cyber Monitoring System.
Duties of this role will include:
Provide technical support in the development, design, maintenance, and testing of the substation cyber monitoring system
Work collaboratively with Dominion Energy Electric Transmission departments to implement and manage the new ETFO Cyber Monitoring security initiatives
Work closely with the Electric Transmission Standards Team to create and document a new ETFO Cyber Monitoring appliance installation and monitoring standard
Participate in the development of OT/ICS Cyber Monitoring policies and procedures
Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:
Engineer II (3+ years of relevant engineering experience) PLUS a bachelor's degree in engineering for Titled Engineers
Engineer III (5 - 6+ years of relevant engineering experience) PLUS a bachelor's degree in engineering for Titled Engineers
Engineering Technical Specialist II (2-3+ years of relevant experience)
Engineering Technical specialist III (5-6+ years of relevant experience)
In-depth knowledge of engineering principals, theories and practices.
Ability to utilize OT/ICS monitoring strategies, threat detection and risk mitigation is a plus
Ability to apply knowledge, techniques, skills and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to solve broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline.
Ability to design systems, components, or processes meeting specified needs for broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline.
Strong oral, written and graphical communication skills including technical writing; ability to identify and use appropriate technical literature.
Ability to conduct standard tests, measurements and experiments.
Ability to analyze and interpret the results to improve processes. Ability to function effectively independently and as a member on a technical team.
Excellent organization and project management skills.
Excellent personal computer skills including knowledge of applicable software programs.
Education Requirements
Education Level for Engineer II and Engineer III: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met:
Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program based on the year that the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own Engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or
Possess a 4-year degree in Engineering (non-ABET accredited), Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate Engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same Engineering discipline is ABET-accredited based on the year the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license
Education Level for Engineering Technical Specialist II/III: Preferred Bachelor degree's or equivalent combination of experiene in lieu of preferred degree also accepted:
In order to be a titled Engineering Technical Specialist , you must meet one of the following criteria:
4-year Engineering Technology degree or 4-year degree in Engineering (not ABET-accredited); or
4-year degree in Physics, Math, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Engineering or other technical related discipline; or
4-year non-technical degree and post-graduate degree in Engineering Technology or Engineering (not ABET-accredited); or
Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred degree
Upcoming engineering graduates with a projected graduation date of no later than May 31, 2024, who also meet above criteria will be considered.
Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
Depending on functional responsibilities and location of position must review ANS 3.1 12/79, ANSI N18.1-1971 or ANSI/ANS 3.1-1993 and DOM-QA-1 as appropriate.
