  Position Specific Description

  The Technical Services Lines Team is looking for a highly motivated individual that wants to make a difference! The Lines Team manages a variety of assets for overhead power lines at FPL. The new Subject Matter Expert will play a key role in maintaining transmission equipment and standards within FPL.

  Individual will be a subject matter expert for overhead transmission power lines

  Position is accountable for the support and reliability of the transmission power lines at FPL

  Individual will develop processes, procedures and programs to ensure that Power Delivery meets or exceed the annual Business Unit Reliability Metrics

  Individual will develop, interpret and advise on standards, and provide training to power line engineers, field operations leads, construction leads and contactors

  Individual will prepare material specifications, determine approved suppliers, support the maintenance of the material catalog, set safety stock levels, and support the management of inventory

  Individual will provide technical support for the Power delivery Safety Program for power lines

  Individual will represent FPL on various industry committees such as CEATI, NATF, etc.

  Employees in this role apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to broad variety of assignments and related fields. This job is responsible for evaluating, selecting, and applying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks. This position conducts analysis on system performance and reliability strategy and provides recommendations.

  Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides engineering, design and environmental support

  • Tracks and reports on project negotiations and performance

  • Delivers company standards, policies, training, and support of organization

  • Prepares communications, presentations and provides support at meetings

  • Formulates researches, and develops improvement measures

  • Works with other departments within the organization to establish customer requirements and project costs

  • Ability to meet attendance and storm duty requirements

  • Ability to work extended hours

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

  Required Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)

  • Bachelor's - Engineering

  • Experience:2+ years

  Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Professional Engineer (PE)

  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certified

  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certified

  • Master's Degree

  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified

  • Six Sigma Master Black Belt
