  The Role

  As an Electrical Engineer at Newport News Shipbuilding you will develop technical proposals to address problems or improve performance for various Interior Communication (IC) systems for the US Navy. You will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of system integration and design as well as assist in troubleshooting of IC systems. You will also be responsible for researching, developing, designing, and testing electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. As an Electrical Engineer you will design electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. Opportunity to work system design, produce drawing products, and work hands on with equipment. The work is challenging but very rewarding allowing the candidate to have input/control over every aspect of the systems under their area of responsibility. Candidate will interact and support all members of the value stream.

  Writing technical manuals or other technical documents to support operation of electrical equipment and systems.

  Review documents to ensure they are technically accurate.

  Interface with customers and suppliers to fulfill technical information requests.

  Troubleshoot IC systems.

  Develop systems and/or equipment modifications to correct deficiencies or improve performance.

  Test equipment to troubleshoot or verify proper operation of equipment after design modifications are developed.

  Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

  Must Have

  Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience;

  Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience;

  Ph.D. and 0 years of experience.

  Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

  Nice to Have

  -Using/Writing Technical Manuals
