The EMS Course Coordinator Administrator is responsible for coordination and oversight of Basic Life Support(BLS) and Advanced Life Support(ALS) courses.
Responsible for coordinating courses at the BLS and ALS levels including but not limited to: Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Paramedic, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Bleeding Control (BCON);Scheduling of all instructors for didactic and psychomotor sessions in accordance with the National EMS and PA Department of Health State Educational standards. Monitors and evaluate instructors and Subject Matter Experts (SME) for compliance with expected standards and adherence to the educational curriculum;Maintain all student to instructor ratios according to the PA Education Standard Operating Procedure. Assist as a senior instructor or psychomotor assistant as needed;Keep student rosters, sign in sheets, and attendance and grades for students enrolled in the course;Ensure maintenance and posting of all student files including but not limited to criminal history checks, insurance coverage verification, immunizations, health records, emergency contact information, student counseling, disciplinary actions, dismissal or drop documentation;Track student field and hospital clinical requirements and properly document info; Coordinate with EMS Training Coordinator and training staff to comply with quality assurance-quality improvement actions as courses are complete by surveying graduates for program successes and note areas needing improvement.
Valid PA driver's license;
Current PA certification as an EMT or Paramedic, National Registry certification preferred;Current EMS Instructor certification;Current Emergency Medical Service Vehicle Operator (EMSVO) certified preferred.Associates or bachelor's degree preferred, or commensurate EMS experience (Min of 5 years);Current clean criminal background check (PA PSP), and ChildLine clearances. CPR instructor preferred;Excellent computer skills and a strong knowledge of technology (Including desktop products, virtual meeting and class development software and FISDAP as a student data portal;Must be extremely well organized, with attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize;Must be able to establish and maintain productive professional relationships.Teach using multiple methods for all types of student learners;Ability to work well under time deadlines;Excellent communications skills;Position requires attendance at day, night or on weekends based on course instruction. Ability to sit, stand, and operate a keyboard & mouse for moderate periods of time. Ability to work during all weather conditions. Occasionally may be required to do light level physical work that would include reaching, pulling, bending, and lifting. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and work well under limited time constraints. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Able to work various shifts, on-call, rotating schedules, weekends, and holidays.
