Overview
Provides strong compliance support to internal business partners. Ensures timely and accurate problem resolution while mitigating risk exposure.
Responsibilities
Partners with product management, service, training, and marketing/PR providing updates and risk mitigation solutions around products and services in response to legislative/regulatory landscape in the employment law space.
Engages in continuous monitoring, reviewing and analysis of legislative and regulatory developments in employment laws at the federal, state, and local level, i.e., wage/hour, anti-discrimination, paid leaves, labor, pay equity, immigration, etc.
Assesses current functionality and implementation of functionality in client facing payroll platforms and delivers risk mitigation recommendations to help ensure continued compliance with federal, state and local wage and hour laws including overtime, tip credit, allowances, wage statements.
May provide employment law-related compliance support as described above for additional client facing HR-related products/services.
Reviews and edits internal/external communications, advertising, marketing, and training materials, to ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and/or accuracy with client facing HR-related product/services.
May conduct research on complex compliance risk-centric issues in the employment law arena potentially impacting Paychex products and services, to identify business opportunities and/or challenges and to support stakeholders in strategic business decisions.
May represent the company in the delivery of external webinars on employment laws and impacts on employers.
Assesses employment law-related compliance implications of potential company acquisitions in the HR/Payroll Services space.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree – Concentration/significant coursework in HR Management, Legal Studies, Compliance or related area of study. JD or other advanced degree with concentrations/ experience in labor and employment laws a plus.
Minimum of 4 years of related experience in employment law; compliance experience a plus.
Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $69,930.00 – $109,890.00 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
