The Employee Health Nurse functions independently in the assessment, documentation and evaluation of the health needs and concerns for new employees as well as current employees. Provides the assessment of new employees and new volunteers using a health screen to determine workability, immunization status, and Tuberculosis status and education related to hospital and governmental guidelines e.g. blood and body fluid exposure, respirator fit testing, flu immunization and communicable illness. Perform nursing treatments such as immunizations, and respirator fit testing. Work Schedule: Casual - per diem Required Qualifications: Required: Associate Degree in Nursing Three years nursing experience in outpatient clinic or hospital Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Wisconsin Current BLS - American Heart Association or BLS - American Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider) Ability to learn and apply organizational policies and regulatory guidelines and requirements for Occupational Health. Competent in the basics of Microsoft Office, electronic health records and internet. Knowledge of confidentiality and release of information requirements Ability to interpret laboratory tests. Ability to assess health needs for referral for fitness for duty, ergonomic evaluations, or higher level of care. Ability to enact communicable disease exposure procedures and infection control practices. Ability to relate to employees in stressful situations. Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of current nursing practices and techniques. Ability to critically think clinical situations and intervene appropriately.
