Job Description:

Actalent is seeking an experienced Emissions Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in emissions testing for large-scale vehicles within a research and development setting. This position involves supervising installations, commissioning, and maintenance, as well as executing regulatory testing and vehicle certification audits.

Hard Skills:

Emissions Testing and Regulation:Proficiency in GHG17, GHG21, and CARB24 emissions testing and regulatory compliance.

Diesel Powertrains:Experience with Class 6 - 8 diesel powertrains.

PEMS Bench Systems:Installation, commissioning, maintenance, test operations, and data post-processing for Horiba, Semtech, and AVL PEMS Bench systems.

Span Gas and Linearization Validation:Certification per 1065 protocols.

Data Acquisition (DAQ) Systems:Integration and utilization of J1939 data resources (CANape preferred).

AVL M.O.V.E PM PEMS, iS Gaseous, and FID Testing:Familiarity with AVL M.O.V.E PM PEMS, iS gaseous, and FID testing, as well as CONCERTO post-processing.

Soft Skills:

Communication:Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal and external engineering teams, UAW, and Data Analytics teams.

Problem-Solving:Ability to address complex challenges related to emissions testing and compliance.

Travel:Willingness to travel up to 30% for work-related purposes.

Work Environment:

The position is based onsite in Detroit, MI.

Requires up to 30% travel, including post-winter and summer tests and customer audits
