Job SummaryThe Department of Emergency Medicine of the Denver Health and HospitalAuthority is recruiting a passionate and talented Emergency Physician to serveas Clerkship Director and Assistant Residency Program Director for the DenverHealth Residency in Emergency Medicine (DHREM). The Clerkship Directorwill be responsible for the education of emergency medicine bound medicalstudents at both Denver Health and the University of Colorado School ofMedicine, ongoing mentorship for EM-bound students as core EMSpecialty-Specific Advisor, and oversight of off-service residents/fellowsrotating through the Denver Health emergency department. As an AssistantResidency Director, this position will serve as a core member of theResidency Leadership team, focusing on projects related to health equity andpipeline programs, recruitment, and supporting all educational andacademic missions of the residency program.
The Denver Health Residency in Emergency Medicine is one of the oldest andmost highly regarded Emergency Medicine training programs in the country witha longstanding legacy of training future leaders in our specialty. Thedepartment educates over 60 local and visiting emergency-medicine-boundstudents each year, providing an unparalleled clinical experience withstudents working at both of our core clinical sites, Denver Health and theUniversity of Colorado Hospital. Students are exposed to our breadth offaculty expertise through didactics, mentorship, and unique educationalopportunities focusing on Emergency Medical Service (EMS), SocialEmergency Medicine, and Ultrasound. With one of the first funded externshipsfor Underrepresented in Medicine (UiM) Emergency Medicine applicants inthe country, our department continues to push opportunities to support anddiversify our program and our specialty.
