  Job Description

  Emergency Medical Services Intern will complete the required training for an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B) to provide out of hospital Basic Life Support and transportation by ambulance for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical services (EMS) system.

  Job Responsibility

  1.Shadow experienced EMT's during emergency calls, hospital transfers, and various medical procedures to gain a deep understanding of the role and responsibilities of an EMT.

  2.Learn how to conduct initial patient assessments, including vital signs measurement, patient history taking, and recognizing signs and symptoms of various medical conditions.

  3.Assist in performing basic medical procedures under supervision, such as administering CPR, oxygen therapy, wound care, and splinting.

  4.Accompany the EMT team on emergency response calls to accidents, medical emergencies, and other critical situations. Participate in patient extrications, transportation, and treatment.

  5.Familiarize yourself with the proper use of medical equipment and ambulance operations. Ensure equipment readiness and maintenance.

  6.Documentation: Learn to maintain accurate and detailed patient care records, incident reports, and other necessary documentation.

  Attend training sessions, workshops, and seminars to enhance your knowledge and skills related to emergency medical services.

  Adhere to all state and local regulations, as well as company policies, while providing care and services to patients.

  9.Promote and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others. Follow infection control protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.

  Collaborate effectively with other members of the healthcare team, including paramedics, nurses, and physicians, to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.Job Qualification

  *High School degree or equivalent, required.

  *Driver's license valid in New York State.

  *Must meet the criteria for

  NYS DOH Functional Description for qualifications, competencies, and tasks (EMT, BLS, DLD).

  The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).

  The salary range for this position is $36,980-$55,690/year
