The Cardiovascular Intervention Center is a core element of the Smidt Heart Institute, performing more than 8,000 procedures a year. The department serves the populations of neonates to and including geriatrics. In this twelve-laboratory facility, we perform a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for coronary artery disease, heart muscle function and heart valve dysfunction.We are currently offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus to newly hired Techs!

Summary of Essential Duties:

The Cardiovascular Technician/ Radiology tech assists in all procedures performed in the Cardiovascular Intervention Center and is a member of the Electrophysiology Lab

Provides a safe patient care environment, maintains and operates the physiological monitoring/recording system for both interventional cardiac and electrophysiology studies

Assists physicians by functioning as scrub tech, monitor role or assistant circulator, archives all digital images and documents all actions taken by the EP Lab

Responsible for being able to setup and operate all equipment within the department that may be required for a given procedure including but not limited to: Electrophysiology studies, Ablation, Pacemakers and ICD implants

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required

Graduate of an accredited training program eligible to sit for Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Certification or RCES exam required

License/Certifications:

BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required

ACLS and PALS preferred

RCIS or RCES from Cardiovascular Credentialing International preferred

Applicants with RCIS or RCES certification may be considered as an Electrophysiology Tech II

Experience:

Cath Lab and/or Electrophysiology experience preferred

A minimum of 3 years of Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, Surgical Center or acute care experience required for consideration as an Electrophysiology Tech II
