Responsibilities:
Direct research into advanced concepts and prototypes for variouscommunication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagneticsystems and components to develop new business opportunities.Work directly with senior customers to develop concepts andrequirements for future systems.Direct development of innovative tools and resources to improve allaspects of requirement definition, systems integration and producttesting.Work with source selection teams to identify appropriate suppliersfor critical programs.Provide support to products throughout their lifecycle frommanufacturing to customer use by coordinating product-widecorrective and preventive actions as required.Lead development of large-scale proposals to support development ofnew business.Work independently.Perform analyses, develop test procedures, conduct tests,troubleshoot, and write and review test reports in accordance withMIL-STD-461/464 and DO-160 for various systems on a multitude of airand space platforms recognized around the world.Provide EMI/EMC expertise to design and modification efforts ofproducts being developed throughout Boeing.Provide an excellent opportunity to develop new solutions, to growand mentor the next generation of engineers.Guide the candidates\' career towards the submittal of a candidacyfor a position in the company Technical Fellowship.Coordinate, test, and verify EMI/EMC requirements with teammates,customers, and system architects through the development andsustainment of various Boeing systemsDevelop and mentor teammates through the development of EMI/EMCControl Plans, Test Procedures, and Test ReportsLead EMI/EMC analyses and implement mitigation mechanisms to assurecompatibility and safety of new and existing systems and interfacesLead the evaluation of supplier data and design drawings to verifyand correct system design to EMI/EMC standardsLead EMI/EMC testing of hardware and software systems in both laband on-aircraft environments to verify adherence to Boeing and FAAand/or Military requirementsDevelop your career path to become a Technical Lead Engineer (TLE),leading to becoming a Boeing Designated Expert (BDE) and to the goalof candidacy for a position in the Boeing Technical FellowshipSupport project management by tracking and reporting project status,by generating bids and requirements, and by providing workstatement, budget, and schedulePerform Nuclear Hardening, HIRF/Lightning, RF COSITE, and AntennaCoupling analyses and testCoordinate, test, and verify TEMPEST requirements with teammates,customers, and system architects through the development andsustainment of various Boeing systemsDevelop and mentor teammates through the development of TEMPESTControl Plans, Test Procedures, and Test ReportsDevelop and implement Test Automation for aircraft modificationsApply EMI engineering technology experience to document and solvecomplex problemsPerform trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms ofanalyses to redict component, interconnects, and system performanceand to optimize designApply conversion, correction, and antenna factors to EMI/EMCanalyses and testWork on a cross-functional support team and communicate clearly invarious review boards both internally & externallyQualifications:
Bachelor\'s Degree n engineering, engineering technology, engineeringphysics or physics combined with 20 or more years\' experience in anengineering classification or a Master\'s degree with typically 18 ormore years\' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degreewith typically 15 or more years\' experience in an engineeringclassification. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred,although not required, accreditation standard.
Ability to Obtain Secret Clearance
Deep knowledge and highly developed technical expertise.
Must have previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry
Must have previous experience of MIL-STD-461/464 and/or DO-160 EMI/EMCexperience
Must be familiar with the Electromagnetic concepts (such as RFisolation, shielding, grounding, and filtering)
Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time as req
