The Electronic Engineering Technician 3 position will provide engineering, design, and field support to the Project Engineering Telecom organization. Work may include fiber optics, analog/mobile radio, digital radio, power line carrier, operational telephone, microwave towers and antennas, emergency AC/DC power and UPS systems, communications buildings, multiplex equipment, and monitoring systems including alarm system, Fault Locating Acquisition Reporter (FLAR), microwave monitor, wide area networks used for operational data, and network management. This position will apply theory and principles of electrical and electronics engineering to the department's functions where assigned, under the guidance of engineering staff. This position will provide engineering technician expertise, assisting project managers and other engineering personnel in implementing projects, supporting field maintenance crews, and other related engineering activities. Additionally, this high-level technician position will provide technical assistance and provide recommendations for solutions when engineering problems are encountered before, during, or after construction. Prepare engineering designs or assist in developing engineering requirements for building, installing, and modifying facilities. Designs are based on analysis of engineering, design requirements, project parameters, and technical information from multiple sources. Adapt standard guides and templates to assigned projects. Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the scheduled completion of project goals. Participate in site visits to the field to support telecommunications project scoping and design, verify existing equipment configuration at sites, and document as-built records during project wrap-up. Participate in the development and update of Telecommunication drawing templates and standards. Organize and analyze drawings before setup and discuss project complexity and time estimates with technical and supervisory personnel. Perform sub-system user file management within CAD systems, such as plotting, printing, storage and retrieving and returning drawings from ProjectWise. Update and maintain the As Built file structure within ProjectWise; maneuver .pdf and .dgn files as required. Perform checks on CAD and manually drafted drawings and other documents for drafting accuracy and completeness; make necessary corrections before review by engineers and technicians. Provide technical review of other technician's work; compare prints to site photos of equipment layouts, waveguide ports, towers and antennas, fiber optic patch panels, wiring of multiplexers, channel banks, radios, AC/DC
