POSITION OBJECTIVES: Applies electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical machinery and electrical control equipment and circuitry by performing the following duties.
Assemble electrical systems or prototypes, using hand tools or measuring instruments.
Install electrical control systems or solid-state equipment.
Assemble equipment or components from document, pictures, an/or verbal instruction.
Inspect finished products to locate flaws.
Test performance of electrical, electronic, mechanical, or integrated systems or equipment.
Fabricate devices or components.
Install instrumentation or electronic equipment or associated systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED required; graduate of a technical/vocational training program is preferred. Industry Certification Preferred.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Physical movement, bending, lifting, and twisting is required for installation of components .
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Must be able to read and understand various service manuals, electrical diagrams, and troubleshooting guides. Must be able to read and understand the Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Co., Inc. Employee Handbook, safety plans/programs, safety training materials and SDS sheets.
