Electrical Project Engineer - Minnetonka, MNWestwood Professional Services, Inc.Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Electrical ProjectEngineer to support our Electrical Engineering Team. The position is for anelectrical engineer to support interconnection and design of EV chargingfacilities and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Facilities, whichincludes: BESS sites layout, EV charger site layout, selecting andsizing appropriate distribution/collection equipment and conductors, anddetermining interconnection requirements. As an Electrical Project Engineerthe individual will coordinate with the Project Lead, and SeniorEngineers, to maintain firm standards and consistency as well as overseejunior engineers, electrical designers, and drafters on the project. Duties and Responsibilities
Lead electrical engineering portions of EV Charging Facilities and EnergyStorage ProjectsResponsible for contractual electrical engineering scope, verifyincorporation into design, and coordination of change orders with projectmanagerResponsible for insuring project deliverable schedules for electricalengineering scope are metCoordinate with other project disciplines including civil engineers,geotechnical/structural engineers, and surveyorsPerform electrical engineering design and creation of construction documentsfor projectsResponsible for performing electrical calculations and studies such as shortcircuit, load flow calculations and voltage drop.Coordinate with clients, utilities, and code enforcement officers.QA/QC of design work performed by interns, designers/drafters,graduate engineers, and staff engineersMaintain awareness of currently available equipment and industry bestpracticesCollaborate with and support electrical engineering teams in other officesas projects and workload sharing between offices dictates.Support construction of the projects by responding to contractor and ownerrequests including RFIs and submittal reviewSupervise, train, and/or mentor interns, graduate engineers, anddesign techniciansRequired Skills
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Renewable EngineeringProgramKnowledge of NEC requirementsKnowledge and proficiency in the use of an electrical power system modelingprogram(s)Approximately 3-7 years of experience in the design of electricaldistribution, generation, and or general electrical constructionWorking knowledge and ability to read and create construction drawings andspecification packagesProficiency with Microsoft Office productsProfessional appearance with excellent written and verbal communicationsskills, including ability to write detailed technical reports with minimaloversiteExperience with progress reports, managing project data and communicatingproject requirements to internal stakeholders.Must have a strong work ethic along with a positive attitudeMust be a supportive team member, able to work in a collaborativeenvironmentMust be self-motivated with an ability to balance multiple projects undertight deadlines with minimal supervisionAbility to use AutoCAD in at least a limited capacityPreferred Experience
