About Electrical Maintenance Technician

  Job Responsibilities:

  This position is an industrial electrician responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting a wide range of equipment in a manufacturing facility.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on complex electrical equipment, including PLCs, control circuits, communication systems, I/O field devices, and VFD drives/motors.

  • Install or modify electrical equipment following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, and other specifications with minimal instruction after general assignment.

  • Work directly with all maintenance and operations personnel in a fast-paced environment to help develop a safety focused and productive HM team and support electrical teammates to help maintain a positive and efficient work environment focused on safety and reliability.

  • Assist in the development of a work safety program, PM system, personnel training program, and equipment spares list for the electrical group

  Work Environment:

  Environment is typical for a steel mill production area, with extreme temperatures, high noise levels, and dusty/greasy areas. Physically demanding work will be required in the production environments. Typical workhours are 12 hour shifts, which rotate days and nights. This results in working some weekends/holidays and

  overtime.

  EVPs:

  Above Market Pay

  Rotating Schedule (4 on, 4 off between 1st and 3rd shift from 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am)

  Quarterly Bonus Up To $13,000

  Additional Qualifications:

  1) Ability to use mechanical ingenuity and make decisions in a fast paced production environment in a safe and efficient manner

  2) Adaptability to accept changes in job duties and eagerness to learn and apply new knowledge.

  3) Reliable team player with good communication skills.

  4) Highly motivated, self-directed, and willing to put in extra hours when needed.

  5) Demonstrated proficiency using precision measuring instruments.

  6) Working knowledge of industrial hydraulics and power transmissions.

  7) Experience in reading mechanical blueprints, as well as hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.

  8) Ability to weld (stick, mig / tig-preferred), use cutting torches and the use of overhead cranes is a plus.

  9) Knowledge and efficient in the use of the proper rigging equipment, includes critical lifts.

  10) Experienced with mobile equipment (Rough Terrain, Man Lift, Fork Lift, Carry Deck or Broderson)

  11) Basic Computer skills required; use of Microsoft Office is a plus.

  12) Efficient in the Metric Measuring System is a plus.

  13) High School diploma or equivalent.

  14) Technical certificate in Steel or Industrial Technology or closely related field is a plus.

  15) Minimum 2 years of work experience as an Industrial Mechanical Technician.
