Moog is looking for an Electrical Systems Engineering Manager for ourSpacecraft Enterprise located in Arvada Co. The spacecraft enterprise is abusiness unit within Moog Space and Defense Group designs, develops,produces, and tests spacecraft buses. In this role the successful candidatewill manage the Avionics, Power and Wiring Team for the spacecraft businessuniSpecific responsibilities:
Lead and manage team of electrical engineers of various specialties andexperience levels to achieve design, integration, production and test ofspacecraft avionics, power and wiring subsystems and associated groundsupport equipment. Function as engineering manager of matrixed organization.Deploy engineers and establish job assignments and objectives. Includesproposal support for new programs as well as various stages of in processprogr
Conduct periodic performance feedback and career management dialogues withsubordinate engineers
Define and staff team skill mix and depth needs in support of current andfuture spacecraft enterprise programs
Establish training programs and mentoring programs for engineers including useof tools, processes, requirements, test, and production
Experience interfacing with customer representatives and higher-levelleadershipMinimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering or related field
10 years minimum experience in aspects of Space or Aeronatics ElectricalSystems / Avionics, Power and Wiring Subsystems
Demonstrated technical depth in avionics power and wiring subsystemsintegration and design, operation and test including specification andprocurement of components comprising this system
Experience with electrical subsystem test and integration
Possess technical knowledge and personal integrity required to earn therespect of subordinates.
Experience interfacing with customer representatives and higher-levelleadership
Knowledge and awareness of analysis tools and processes applied in design andintegration of APW subsystems
Organize, allocate, direct, and motivate the resources of this group toprovide high quality engineering work which is consistent with the companiesobjectives.Will be responsible for resource management performance to developmentschedule and cost performance.
Very good verbal, written communication, organizational, andinterpersonal skills
Experience in leadership of engineering teams spanning much of the skill setsneeded
This position requires access to US Export Controlled InformationPreferred Qualifications:
Management appropriate skills for Project Proposals, Cost AccountManagement, Project Scheduling, and Earned Value Measurement (EVM).
Experience in aspects of Space Electrical Systems / Avionics, Power andWiring Subsystems for Spacecraft or Launch Vehicle upper stages
Experience specifically in Spacecraft or Launch Vehicle upper stages
Prior hands-on experience in design of select components comprising APWsystems
Prior hands-on experience in acceptance testing of select componentscomprising APW system
