BlueHalo is seeking an Electrical Engineer with controls experience to support an AFRL Research & Development laboratory and to be be an integral member of a joint government and contractor team that operates in a very dynamic environment. This position in the Robotic Orbital Control (ROC) lab is ideal for someone interested in both robotics and space. In the ROC lab, robotic applications and algorithms that are needed for future on-orbit tasks are developed, tested, and validated in both a simulated and actual lab environment. The position requires someone with the capability to manage the development of lab hardware as a robotic testbed for software and hardware components as well as help in the advancement of space logistics technology by assisting in the development of electronics, control algorithms, communication standards, hardware standards, etc. The position is responsible for maintaining and upgrading existing robotics platforms and associated hardware, troubleshooting problems in hardware and control systems, developing accessories used in the lab such as actuators, manipulator end-effectors, custom analog and digital electronics, and mounting hardware, and providing support for demonstrations of technology and capabilities to visitors including government and military personnel.
You’re required to have this
B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering
2+ years experience with electrical design, development, and analysis
Experience with control theory
Experience with analog and digital electronics design
Experience with Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and schematic design
Experience with wire harness schematic design
Hands on experience prototyping electronics and mechatronic systems
Ability to be hands-on in assembly of robotic systems and electronics, including soldering of PCB boards and components, electrical power systems, computer networking, and sensor integration.
Ability to maintain a lab space, including strict tool storage, parts inventory, and general lab maintenance and cleanliness in support of demonstrations and tours as needed.
Ability to document work, both hardware and software developments, and report progress clearly and efficiently.
Experience with programming: Python, C, C++, MATLAB
Must be US Citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance

Preferred Experience:
M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering with Controls concentration (or related)
Controls Background: Modern Control, Classical Control
Experience with Robotics/Mechatronics
Experience with Robotic Operating System (ROS)
Experience with robotic arms and manipulators
Experience with spacecraft Guidance, Navigation, and Controls
