Job Title : Electrical Engineer II
Location : Seattle, WA (Fully On-site)
Payrate : $50/hr. + Benefits
Duration : 11 Months month contract
Schedule : 40 hours/Week, Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm PT
Job Description:
The successful candidate in this role will:
Have strong knowledge of fundamental electrical components (AC and DC power supplies, cables, circuit breakers, fuses, transformers).
Install and maintain AC & DC EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) Hardware with a focus on safety.
Develop validation setup and test plan for hardware and software testing for OCPP & ISO15118 communication protocols, fault injection, customer scenario simulation, and end-to-end functional and performance testing.
Manage and execute manual/automated simulator test suites for regression testing EV charger software and verify growing feature sets and customer requirements.
Create a sandbox environment to demo product performance.
Track hardware and software defects/issues in JIRA.
Maintain internal testing and validation lab equipment.
Collaborate with the team on approaches for testing new products and electrical distribution (AC and DC).
Execute test Automation and integration tasks in the lab.
Architect and develop strategies to test the system.
Basic Qualifications:
BS in engineering with a minimum of 4 years of experience or MS in engineering with 3+ years of experience.
Hands-on experience in hardware installation, including wiring, commissioning, and bolting.
Practical experience with EVs, EV chargers, and charger cable management.
Proficiency in using power analyzers, oscilloscopes, DMM, and data loggers.
Execution and creation of software verification plans, procedures, and test environments.
Certification as an electrician.
Experience in power systems, power converters, cooling, and controls.
Assembly expertise in power systems (PCBs and controls).
Worked with high voltage and current environments.
Familiarity with LabVIEW or other scripting languages is a plus.
Exposure to HIL (Hardware In the Loop) and SIL (Software In the Loop) environments.
Fast-paced learner and self-starter.
Knowledge of software requirements, architecture, and documentation.
Understanding of software maintenance and version control.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in LabVIEW or other scripting languages.
Experience in power electronics, including high voltage and low voltage design and testing.
Hands-on experience with energy storage systems.
