We are seeking highly motivated Electrical Engineers to support the development and sustainment of the U.S. Missile Defense Agency Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) anti-ballistic missile system project in Huntsville, AL. This position requires on-site work to be performed in Huntsville, AL. There are no remote work options.
As GSS Electrical Engineer 5, you will support NGI Phase 1 development team efforts and work within an Agile environment. You will assist with leading and providing technical contributions to complex electrical component design solutions. You will work alongside an Electrical Engineers ranging from mid-level and beyond, as well as communicate with Product and Program Chief Engineering / Architecture staff, Product Managers and Customers, with responsibilities that include driving the development of assessments, vetting intricate design solutions through program boards/reviews, participating in proof-of-concept activities, and adhering to program procedures. Accountability and active participation in internal and external meetings, demos and milestone reviews is expected. Cross-team collaboration will be required, and you may be appointed as a focal interface to assist in driving decisions and results.

Requirements :
US Citizenship is required
Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Security clearance is required
BS in Engineering and 14 Years of experience; or 12 Years of Experience and a Masters’ degree within a STEM field
Prior experience with the design, test, and/or integration and deployment of electrical components, electrical ground support equipment (EGSE), or subsystems
Expert level understanding and application of company electrical engineering technical standards. Proven results leading electrical component design solutions from cradle-to-grave
Broad technical expertise and extensive working knowledge of other related disciplines. SME level experience completing impact assessments, proven experience developing and delivering senior level briefings include milestone review packages
Problem solving not only for technical issues, but also for schedule, cost, resource and other project challenges
Experience mentoring and cross-training team members across a diverse set of technologies and electrical system architectures used to meet customer requirements
Experience with classified test systems or systems subject to cyber security policies and risk management framework (RMF)
Must be able to meet GWS Firewall requirements
Ability to travel at least 10%
Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment full time.
Preferred Qualifications
BS in Electrical engineering preferred
Active Secret Security Clearance, or higher
Release of engineering documentation including technical drawings, specifications, and test procedures
Burndown of nonconformances and/or root cause failure analysis of electronic systems
Experience using analytical software tools, such as MATLAB or Python, to analyze and reduce data to identify key characteristics and trends
LabVIEW programming and National Instruments (NI) hardware and software products
LabVIEW FPGA development experience
DOORS and/or CAMEO exposure
Experience with telemetry systems
Experience with mission critical and safety critical systems, components, connectors, cables, etc.
Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Core Standards: MDAQS-001-MAP, MDA-QS-003-PMAP, MDA Instruction 5000.20-INS (ETR Process)
Familiarity with MIL-STD-1901A, MIL-STD-882, EWR-127, RCC 319, RCC 324, DoDEA 8510.01, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, IEEE 802.3u, IEEE 802.3ab, ECSS-ST-50-11C
Familiarity with the GMD domain and GMD Launch Support Systems hardware
