JOB DESCRIPTION:
First shift, EHS Specialist position for a medical device company in Grand Rapids, MI.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Develops administers and implements environmental health and safety EHS programs in accordance with governmental requirements. Depending on position location may monitor compliance auditing and internal conformance efforts. Reviews and analyzes environmental health and safety documentation in compliance with federal EPA state and local regulatory agencies. Evaluates proposed regulations to determine financial industrial public and environmental impact. Establishes permit requirements and assists in OSHA and EPA state and local regulatory audits. Ensures appropriate corrective action is taken where environmental health and safety hazards exist. May provide/promote employee awareness/training on matters of environmental health and safety. First shift position, located at the Grand Rapids location.
SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM:
Typically, an individual contributor with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty. Delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower-level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering and overseeing the projects from design to implementation while and adhering to policies using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education typically University.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
MUST HAVE:
Regulatory knowledge of OSHA General Industry Standard 1910 and EPA RCRA
Experience developing EHS programs and delivering training.
Experience conducting root cause analysis and risk assessments.
