The EHS Professional is responsible for the Environmental, Health and Safety Management system at the Siemens Energy Richland, MS manufacturing facility. The EHS Professional is expected to lead and/or support activities to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses, protect the environment and assure compliance with EHS laws and regulations. The EHS Professional is expected to support and promote EHS initiatives and the company’s long- term strategy for sustainability, energy efficiency and waste reduction. The position requirement is on-site at the Richland, MS manufacturing facility. The position reports to the EQS Manager in Richland, MS.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Advocate for a Healthy Zero Harm safety culture that protects the safety of Siemens Energy’s employees, subcontractors, and customers.
Lead (responsible for) the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications of our Management System.
Support strategy initiatives for continual improvement of EHS management system. Identify long term strategic action plans.
Regularly conduct and/or coordinate safety training for Siemens Energy employees and maintain employee safety training records.
Lead accident investigation process and root cause analysis including tracking and record-keeping requirements.
Support the contractor pre-qualification process and own the onsite contractor safety program.
Maintain and improve safe work standards and practices.
Regularly conduct site safety assessments/audits including tracking and reporting corrective action status.
Maintain EHS regulatory compliance activities, including preparing and submitting EHS regulatory reports.
Provide support for the management of worker’s compensation claims and return-to-work program.
Provide technical guidance to employees regarding environmental, health and safety related issues or concerns, and regulatory compliance.
Supervise occupational safety/environmental related Federal, State, and Local regulatory changes and impacting the business, both from a facility and customer relations standpoint, and communicate those to management.
What You Bring
BS/BA in related subject area (EHS, Engineering), or advanced degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
8+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing or related industry; CSP Preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and its implementation
Subject matter expertise or knowledge in high-risk activities such as: Cranes & Rigging, Powered Industrial Vehicles, Machine Guarding and Interlocks, Energy Isolation & Lock out Tag Out and Elevated Work.
Ideal candidate has experience with promoting and driving safety leadership throughout organization and organizational safety culture.
