This is a job for an Egress Specialist with a company in Columbus, MS.
Responsibilities: Performs aircraft egress systems repair/maintenance tasks under technical guidance and supervision. Performs tasks with minimum supervision. Coordinates maintenance activities with senior egress personnel as required. Performs maintenance and inspections of aircraft egress systems. Conducts test of harnesses after cleaning/repair. Performs system troubleshooting tasks. Performs operational checks of assigned systems. Annotates maintenance actions in aircraft records and is knowledgeable in CAMS documentation. Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times. Must obtain all certifications required to perform the job requirements. May be selected to perform special certifications including Red X inspections, if no qualified volunteers, then the most qualified person may be selected. May be assigned to maintain TO files, bench stock, shop stock, CTKs, or hazardous waste areas. Shall assist other personnel and work centers as directed. Must promote Company values, policies, and standards of conduct. Must be customer oriented and ensure professional coordination with Operations and other base agencies. Shall perform other duties assigned to include TDY and travel. Must be able to workday shift, night shift, or weekend duty as required. Receives cross-utilization training and is qualified to perform those maintenance tasks.
Requirements: A working knowledge of the repair of aircraft egress systems and of the use of associated schematic diagrams, charts and drawings is required. Must possess knowledge of the applicable technical orders, related publications, and safety regulations. High school diploma or the equivalent is required. Specialized courses in egress systems maintenance are desired. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. A minimum of two years' recent experience in aircraft egress system maintenance and completion of a basic egress system maintenance course is required. The basic course requirement may be waived by HQ AETC if there is extensive hands-on, practical experience. Must be able to obtain and maintain a flight line driver's license and may be required to obtain and maintain a class CDL. Physical exertion requirement is heavy.
