　　Summary:The Education Coordinator is responsible for the overall development and implementation of the East Harlem Center’s Educational Services and supervision of educational program staff and volunteers. This includes the development of educational curriculums, themes and programming for the After-School Elementary, and Middle School programs that provide children with quality educational services that address their needs in a safe, nurturing and developmentally appropriate and enriching setting that promotes learning and academic success.**

　　Responsibilities:

　　Create and implement education curricula and themes for all center programs, After-School Elementary and Bridge programs.

　　Develop and implement homework help, tutoring and other academic related programming for young people ages 5-18 to provide extra assistance for those members who need or seek it.

　　Maintain educational records on participants, including report cards, reading and math grades and educational assessments on youth.

　　Supervise and collaborate with specialists, computer lab instructor and educational support volunteers on ideas for educational enrichment ideas and educational assistance for young people.

　　Assist School-Age/Middle School Coordinator and Assistant Director as needed, including overseeing the programs and staff in their absence.

　　Collaborate with center staff to develop and facilitate staff development workshops on educational enrichment initiatives for School-Age After-School Elementary and Middle School programs.

　　Report and meet regularly with Agency and Center Administrative Teams to effectively integrate academic related programming with other Center and Agency programs, events and activities.

　　Complete and submit weekly schedules, reports, data and all other required documentation.

　　Work collaboratively with parents/guardians, families, and other members of the community.

　　Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve practice as well as to support the achievement of the overall goals and mission of the school.

　　In-person collaboration is an essential function of this job.

　　Perform other duties as assigned.

　　Minimum Qualifications:

　　Bachelor’s Degree required

　　Five years of experience working with children and/or families

　　Key Competencies:

　　Previous teaching experience and experience in curriculum development

　　Experience in supervision of staff

　　Flexible and able to adapt

　　Ability to interface with diverse youth and staff populations

　　Excellent Communication Skills (written & verbal)

　　Bilingual/English Spanish is a plus

　　Ability to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays
