A Day in the Life:

We are looking for an experienced and proactive eDiscovery and Legal Operations Manager to drive operational initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the legal team. This full-time position will report to the Vice President, Chief Counsel for Litigation. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end discovery process for all legal matters faced by the company, and optimizing legal operations, including records management.

　　Starting salary is at $90K; commensurate with experience.

　　What You’ll Do:

　　Lead and manage all aspects of the eDiscovery process, from data collection and preservation to document review and production.

　　Collaborate with Hertz’s internal legal team and outside counsel to understand case requirements and develop appropriate eDiscovery strategies on a case-by-case basis.

　　Utilize eDiscovery tools and technology to streamline processes and reduce costs.

　　Provide training to legal teams on eDiscovery practices and tools.

　　Develop and generate reports on eDiscovery metrics, costs, and timelines.

　　Design, implement, and optimize legal operations processes to enhance overall department efficiency.

　　Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for legal workflows.

　　Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives.

　　Implement and update data retention policies and practices. Oversee data preservation in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

　　Evaluate and manage relationships with eDiscovery service providers and other legal vendors.

　　Use analytics to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.

　　What We’re Looking For:

　　Bachelor’s degree

　　Proven experience (preferably 4+ years) in eDiscovery management and legal operations

　　Experience processing data with eDiscovery software (ingesting, processing, imaging, and producing).

　　Experience managing proper retention and deletion of corporate records.

　　Understanding of technology applications relevant to records management.

　　Must have ability to meet critical deadlines.

　　Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with a high level of autonomy.
