JOB REQUIREMENTS: To determine eligibility for applicants/recipients ofEconomic Support Programs. Portions of the duties associated with thisposition may be conducted remotely as allowed by the countytelecommuting policy and authorized by the Department Head. Except inextenuating circumstances, prior to working remotely, the employee must:be fully trained; have demonstrated the ability to work independently;and have established excellent attendance. 1. Interview participants,primarily by phone, to obtain accurate information to determineeligibility for economic support. 2. Determine initial and ongoingeligibility for economic support programs. 3. Secure verification anddocumentation of required information. 4. Prepare, transcribe, and enterinformation in to the computer system. 5. Comprehend the intent andeffects of documents pertaining to bank accounts, insurance policies,mortgages, rental agreements, interest, stocks, bonds, divestments, taxforms, retirement and Social Security payments, pay stubs, andbankruptcy. 6. Maintain an accurate record for each case and makechanges as appropriate. 7. Interpret regulations and standards set forthin policy manuals accurately and logically. 8. Query, enter information,and make changes using the computer system with accuracy. 9. Referindividuals to other agencies and services including employment andtraining opportunities. 10. Determine the accuracy of information andreconcile discrepancies. 11. Keep informed of and process all programchanges. 12. Identify, verify, and report program abuse or potentialfraud cases. May be required to testify in court. 13. Answerface-to-face, mail, e-mail, and phone inquiries. 14. Explain programrules and requirements to the public, participants, and board members.15. Maintain working relationship with other agencies such as familyservices section, child support, housing authority, district attorney,sheriff\'s department and relevant consortium partners. 16. Participatein and complete ongoing training as required by the state, county orconsortium. 17. Prepare records and reports as required. 18. Participatein departmental, section, consortium and individual supervisorymeetings. 19. Work with other section members or other regionalconsortium staff to interpret policies and to develop unity anddepartmental policies. 20. Explore alternatives to financial assistance.21. Screen for priority service. 22. Related duties as assigned.***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Four year bachelordegree, or two year associate degree with two years of related workexperience. 2. Minimum of one year training or experience in computeruse and keyboarding preferably Microsoft Office products. 3.Successfully complete required new worker training within the first twomonths. 4. Possess a valid driver\'s license and reliabletransportation. Physical Demands: 1. Ability to sit or stand forextended periods of time while performing duties. 2. Ability to drive.3. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds. 4. Ability to navigate difficultterrain when making visits out in the field. 5.
