  About the team

  Our Global Legal Compliance team provides key support for all of TikTok's innovative initiatives, state-of-the-art products, and integrated platforms servicing our global markets. We help our technological and business teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal guidance and support. The TikTok team is growing fast and is seeking highly experienced, bright, and capable legal/compliance professionals to join us.

  We are looking for an experienced professional to join our Global Legal Compliance team to focus on global supply chain, trade, and/or ABAC compliance issues for our e-commerce businesses. The candidate we are seeking is a seasoned compliance professionals with good experience in global supply chain compliance, forced labor, import/export control and ABAC compliance issues. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in effectively designing and implementing risk-tailored compliance programs as well as managing investigations and complex projects. The candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, working with global cross-functional teams and different business units, in different time zones, and will embrace and navigate challenges in a range of jurisdictions and across a broad spectrum of issues.

  Responsibilities

  Some key day-to-day responsibilities include:

  - Build and maintain supply chain, import and export, ABAC compliance programs for a variety of consumer product categories (including apparel, footwear, fast-moving consumer goods and electronics) and across a range of geographies

  - Conduct global supply chain and trade audits and implement remediation roadmaps and mechanisms

  - Assess and mitigate supply chain, trade and ABAC compliance risks during procurement, manufacturing, import, export and customs clearance

  - Support incident management and/or conduct supply chain and trade investigations

  - Support merchant onboarding and due diligence

  - Identify, assess, and communicate current global regulatory requirements in these areas and provide early notice of potential changes to requirements

  - Design and deliver global compliance training and communication campaigns, including developing materials and assisting regional compliance teams in customizing training sessions for the regions

  - Establish strong working relationships and build trust and credibility with stakeholders, influencing and supporting a culture of compliance

  - Interpret regulatory requirements based on different business models (e.g., market-place and self-managed retail) across countries into workable processes; drive implementations with the business teams

  - Articulate and break down the impacts into detail according to the end-to-end business flows; explain to the e-commerce business with fast regulatory changes and action items needed by the business

  - Additional project and ad hoc work as necessary to support Global Legal Compliance team

  Qualifications

  Qualifications

  - Bachelor's Degree in business, law or a related area

  - At least 8 years of experience managing supply chain, trade, or ABAC compliance in global and large-scale online retail or manufacturing environment

  - Experience with APAC/US/UK supply chain, logistics, customs, forced/slave labor, import, export laws and regulations, including developing supply chain and compliance programs from ground up

  - Strong data analysis, metrics and Excel skills

  - Experience creating risk-tailored, sustainable and scalable compliance processes

  - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  - Possess the highest standard of ethics and a positive attitude in learning and willing to pick up new knowledge and skills

  - Comfortable working in a fast-paced, start-up environment with little direction and able to work well independently and in a team environment

  - A confident self-starter with strong interpersonal and organizational skills, yet with creative mind, and demonstrate the ability to effectively and proactively exercise good judgment and partner with the business in a fast-paced environment

  - Willing to be available for meetings that are scheduled before or after home time zone normal business hours

  - Willing to travel internationally (including China, SE Asia, UK and US)

  Preferred Qualifications

  - Masters or Doctor's Degree in Law Preferred

  - E-commerce industry experience in relation to a range of consumer product categories, and private label manufacturing models

  - Direct experience engaging with regulatory authorities, associations, or standards bodies

  - Experience leveraging operational teams and technologies to drive process implementations and improvements

  - Experience with responsible sourcing compliance programs

  - Experience in managing complex investigations in a global environment for retail or manufacturing

  Job Information

  [For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)

  The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $101333 - $186917 annually.

  Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

  We cover 100% premium coverage for employee medical insurance, approximately 75% premium coverage for dependents and offer a Health Savings Account(HSA) with a company match. In addition to Flexible Spending Account(FSA) Options like Health Care, Limited Purpose and Dependent Care.

  Our time off and leave plans are: 10 paid holidays per year plus 17 days of Paid Personal Time Off (PPTO) (prorated upon hire and increased by tenure) and 10 paid sick days per year as well as 12 weeks of paid Parental leave and 8 weeks of paid Supplemental Disability.

  We also provide generous benefits like mental and emotional health benefits through our EAP and Lyra. A 401K company match, gym and cellphone service reimbursements. The Company reserves the right to modify or change these benefits programs at any time, with or without notice.
