Description:
Performs Diagnostic Cardiac ultrasound procedures on patients in the Department of Cardiology/Echocardiography.
Position Purpose:
The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements. Must have a working knowledge of pertinent equipment, scanning techniques, patient care, and evaluating patient status and emergency situations. Ability to adequately use, or learn to use, the department’s computerized system and its associated devices.
What You Will Do:
Must understand we exist for the patients and their care is the number one priority.
Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with admin, colleagues, patients and family member.
Educate patients and family members so that they have a transparent understanding of the care being provided.
Understanding in computer-based applications, email, and standard applications such as Microsoft Office.
Minimum Qualifications :
Graduate of an approved cardiac Ultrasound technology program, with credentialing from an ICAEL and ASE recognized Program, such as ARDMS or CCI
Licensed by an organization recognized by ICAEL and ASE
