Job Summary:
The Teacher in Training Position is a professional growth opportunityfor individuals who are pursuing a career in early childhood educationbut do not have the Vermont Childcare Licensing or Head Startcredentials for the role. As a Teacher in Training you will workdirectly in an infant/toddler classroom and will be supported byextensive training, mentorship, and assistance with financial supportfor your Child Development Associate Credential.
Responsibilities:
- Under the mentorship of Lead Teachers and Classroom Supervisorsplans, implements and documents a comprehensive child developmentprogram for infants and toddlers.
- Under supervision and direction fulfills primary caregiver role andsupport child interaction, responsive interactions.
- Participates in the development of child focused goals in partnershipwith families, adheres to timelines and coordinates center/home visitswith each family.
- Ensures Agency\'s full compliance with Head Start PerformanceStandards and Vermont State Licensing Requirements.
Educational Requirements & Experience:
- The Teacher-in-Training must obtain an Infant/Toddler CDA 12 monthsafter they are hired in the position. RCHS will financially support theTeacher-in-Training with completing their CDA.
- The Teacher-in-Training must commit to one year of employment withRutland County Head Start was CDA is acquired or pay back the cost ofthe CDA
- Experience in a center or home-based setting, specializing in infantand toddlers preferred.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours to meet families\' needs andbe reliable and dependable.
- Must have a valid driver\'s license, reliable transportation withpersonal automobile liability insurance coverage at or above the levelsmandated by the State of Vermont.
- *Successful completion of a criminal history background check afterhire.
