Summary Description:At the Colorado College Children's Center, our goal is to offer the finestearly childhood education in Colorado Springs. Our Early Childhood Teacherschallenge our students to develop the habits of discovery and wonder that willbe the foundation for a lifetime of learning. We do this by providing childrenwith a developmentally appropriate environment in which they can explore andtake risks, planning activities that engage and challenge both mind andbody, and unconditional positive regard for our young learners.

Anticipated Salary Range: $18.00 to $20.77 per hour
Responsibilities:
Plan and implement daily activities and meaningful experiences for smallgroups, large groups and individually to enhance skill development in alldomains of learning to include antiracism terminology and language.Plan and implement an age/development appropriate classroom schedule,classroom rules and a room arrangement that supports clear defined interestareas to promote success for all childrenMaintain, prepare, request or purchase materials so they areadequate, appropriate, and safe while maintaining fiscal responsibility.Identify and report children's individual growth using portfolios andonline observation tools that align with Colorado Early Learning andDevelopment Guidelines.Use a variety of appropriate guidance and classroom management techniquesto work effectively with children, including positive reinforcements thatsupport positive behavior. that is age/development appropriate.Perform duties and responsibilities in a cooperative and professionalmanner, treat each staff member, child, family, visitor and volunteerwith respect, courtesy, and kindness.

Required Qualifications:
Must hold current Early Childhood Teacher certification. For education andexperience requirements see current Colorado State Licensing requirements forEarly Childhood Teacher and refer to 7.702.45 Must be at least 18 years ofage. Infant nursery supervisor training and experience may apply. Stateapproved Adult and Child CPR, First Aid and Medical administration trainingincluding Standard Precaution Procedures. Must have current pre-employmentphysical examination, proof of current vaccinations, knowledge ofinfectious diseases and preventative measures to reduce the spread ofdisease, and a working knowledge of developmentally appropriate practiceswith young children.
Proficient with computer software programs such as Word and photo/printprograms; excellent oral and written communication skills; proficient inspelling, punctuation, grammar, and basic business math; ability tothink critically and solve problems; good judgment, organizational, andcustomer ser ice skills, and ability to handle confidential/sensitiveinformation with discretion. Must be flexible and able to react appropriatelyto active children. Frequent bending, standing, crawling, stooping,reaching, carrying, and pushing; moderate physical effort (lifting to50 lbs.) Environment is frequently noisy and often involves working on thefloor or with small chairs/tables. Exposure to infectious diseases.
