As a Drainage/Hydraulics Specialist Engineer at Flatiron, you will play akey role in the design of drainage and hydraulic systems for complextransportation infrastructure projects. You will work collaboratively withspecialized multi-disciplinary engineering teams to provide technical insightand resolve design and construction challenges. Additionally, you will beresponsible for performing technical reviews, engineering analysis, andpresenting analysis and review findings at technical meetings.

What you will be doing
Collaborate with senior engineers in the design of drainage and hydraulicsystems for complex transportation infrastructure projects, addressing majorand unique drainage challenges.Support technical due-diligence review of design deliverables to implementbest practice for design and construction needs, develop innovative andoptimized solutions, identify and mitigate key design risks, ensurecompliance with contract and industry requirements.Provide support in engineering evaluation and analysis, including advanceddrainage analysis, hydraulic modeling, and site investigations.Support specialized design coordination and liaison with external and internalParties to provide technical insight and resolve design and constructionchallenges.Perform technical reviews and engineering analysis in an accurate,complete, and timely manner.Participate and present analysis, review findings, and recommendations attechnical meetings, as requested.Support efforts to capture and spread design innovation and lessons learned toall Districts.Maintain knowledge of Flatiron's company values and strategic plan.Support published corporate policies.Perform additional assignments per management's direction.
What we are looking for
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.Master's Degree or Doctorate (PhD) in Civil Engineering preferred.Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.Strong academic knowledge of Drainage/Hydraulics Engineering.1-5 years of experience in drainage design, encompassing detailed hydrologicand hydraulic analysis, and possessing a broad understanding of variousaspects including, but not limited to: hydrology (rainfall modeling,watershed analysis, discharge development and routing, etc.),hydraulics (pavement drainage, culverts, storm systems, pumpstations, pressure pipe, bridge sizing and scour, sediment transport,revetment design, coastal considerations for highway drainage, floodanalysis, erosion control, etc.), and drainage design (preparationof drainage plans, profiles, specifications, and estimates fortransportation and water resources projects, etc.) is highly valued.Experience with industry design codes and standards.Proficiency in analytical and numerical industry design software is essential(e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM, AutoCAD, GIS, etc.).Strong communication (verbal and written) and management skills are highlyvalued.
