Drafter 1
KBR is seeking a Drafter 1 to support the United States Space Force's (USSF) Satellite Control Network (SCN) in Colorado Springs. The SCN provides highly reliable and secure data transfer, telemetry, tracking, command, control, and communications (TT&C3) for more than 195 Department of Defense (DoD), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), civil, and allied satellites.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Working from sketches and verbal information supplied by an engineer or designer, determines the most appropriate views, details or drawings and supplementary information needed to complete assignments. Resolves most of the problems encountered. Prepares a variety of drawings using a mastery of terminal operator's layout drafting level of the command and data entry methods appropriate to the CAD system in use. Prepares and uses drawing-related electrical and mechanical databases for automation of fabrication and assembly procedures. Makes selection of material based on application, fabrication, function, etc. Prepares drawings of electrical schematics and connection diagrams from rough sketches or design information using knowledge of the physical, functional, and fabrication requirements of the items and assemblies. Makes a variety of studies and analyses in connection with tolerances, materials, structure, etc. to ensure fit and function. Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
Proficient at AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
Must have excellent interpersonal and human relations skills to communicate effectively.
Create/edit engineering documentation.
Experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance evaluation.
Knowledgeable and able to comply with DoD and industry drawing standards.
Knowledgeable on Team Center or similar product lifecycle management system.
Participate in project team meetings.
Coordinate with engineers and project team members to review, create, and edit technical order, engineering documentation, and contract deliverables.
Support, coordinate, and schedule projects and contract customer meetings .
High School diploma or 2 years appropriate technical training and/or 5 years of related experience.
Security Clearance:
Secret (or the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance)
Basic Compensation:
$59,000 - $74,000
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
