Work requires composing, assembling and editing documents in multiple formats. Responsible for delivering accurate and approved information in a timely manner. Work with the IOD Division Chief and Division Support Operations (DSO) to compose, review, and edit technical and non-technical documents, forms, and reports, including but not limited to Public Safety Commission reports, Strategic Plans, IOD Newsletters, and Legislative documents.2. Assist multiple departments in IOD with publishing Standard Operating Procedures, updating Executive Summaries and writing Exceptional Items for IOD.3. Coordinate with staff and administer in Division Support Operations (DSO) all information published on DSO and IOD SharePoint sites.4. Ensure the accuracy of data published and distributed to internal and external audiences by analyzing what is relevant.5. Provide general proofreading and editing services to Division personnel by applying the correct format, style, and standards for correspondence across multiple applications.6. Attend work regularly and observe approved work hours in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies.7. Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications: GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS:Education Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with major coursework in English, Education, Journalism, Communication, or related fields.Experience Minimum three (3) years experience performing timely and professional technical writing, reports, presentations and related documents as more than 50% of total work time.Substitution Note: Additional work experience of the type described or other related education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.Licensure and/or Certification If driving is required, must possess a valid driver license from state of residence.Regulatory Knowledge Working knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly assimilate information related to TXDPS, State and Federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies and procedures.Technology Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Publisher and Teams, and appropriate levels of proficiency with utilized software and systems (e.g. SharePoint, Tableau, Acrobat, SalesForce and Docusign) and be able to learn new software/systems.Interpersonal Skills Must demonstrate an ability to exercise poise, tact, diplomacy and an ability to establish and maintain positive, working/professional relationships with internal/external customers.
