　　Your Responsibilities

　　The DOT Safety and Compliance Internship will give you the opportunity to gain experience in safety and functions within the transportation industry. This internship will provide students with a great opportunity to achieve the following objectives:

　　Acquire knowledge of Federal, State, and local Department of Transportation compliance regulations

　　Participate in Department of Transportation mock safety audits with Ace’s 15 Retail Support Centers

　　Monitor and assist in enforcement of FMCSA regulations to ensure compliance.

　　Assist in coaching and training operations teams on questions regarding driver compliance.

　　Participate in safety initiatives and projects

　　The ideal intern will possess the following:

　　Ability to multi-task and stay organized

　　Excellent verbal and written communication skills

　　Ambitious self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to contribute as an effective team member

　　Takes ownership and accountability of projects and responsibilities

　　Excellent time management and organizational skills

　　Demonstrated motivation and initiative to succeed

　　Knowledge and interest in Ace Hardware Corporation

　　Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday -Friday for 12 weeks

　　Willingness and ability to give presentations to colleagues, managers and directors
