Job Overview:In collaboration with the hospice interdisciplinary teams, obtains durable medical equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner, under the close supervision of the manager and/or assistant nurse manager. Gathers information to successfully begin, support and/or complete DME ordering process, using established workflows & algorithms. Accurately enters all appropriate information into portal & EMR in a timely manner. Responds to calls promptly & courteously, taking appropriate action to resolve situations for positive outcomes. Requests pick up of durable medical equipment after the patient discharge. Facilitate recovery of lost DME. Proactively problem solves, anticipates needs, and initiates solutions for both internal & external customers that support the successful completion of orders. Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team & actively participates in team functions & meetings. Adjusts to changes in workload & schedules based on changing departmental & organizational priorities.
