  Division Controller

  Overview:

  Responsible for managing the daily activities in the accounting department. Ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data.

  Primary Responsibilities:

  Manages the day-to-day functions of the accounting department.Supervises the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and reports.Directs and participates in the review for month-end and year-end closings.Assists in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting, and/or payroll.Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, job costing, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses.Directs and participates in cost analyses and rate proposals.Prepares statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues.Oversees internal controls involving accounting functions.Establishes system and security controls for Accounting and Payroll software.Assists in the preparation of external audit materials, external financial reporting and income tax reporting.Directs the installation and maintenance of new accounting, timekeeping, payroll, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controls.Works with operations on analysis of contract margins.Assistants in bank cash management administration and reporting.Manages on-line credit card administration.Supervisory Responsibilities:

  Supervises Accounts Payable Supervisor, Payroll Manager, and Staff Accountants.

  Education and/or Experience:

  Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting.At least 7 years of accounting experience.Government contract accounting experience required, including in depth knowledge of FAR and DCAA.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  Must have advanced knowledge and ability to manipulate data and spreadsheets, such as Excel.Experience with Sage Accounting software preferred.Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite of products including Word, Excel, Access and E-mail business software.Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a Team.Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively under a minimum of supervision.Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects and have a strong attention for detail.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  CPA or CMA designation requiredPhysical Demands:

The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds.

  W rk Environment:

  General office environment. Some travel both domestically and internationally required based on business demands.
