  Cranial and Spinal Technologies (CST) operating unit is redefining cranial and spinal procedures to reduce variability and improve outcomes with the goal of restoring long-term quality of life for more patients. We are the first company to offer an integrated solution that includes artificial intelligence-driven surgical planning, personalized spinal implants, and robotic-assisted surgical delivery to make patient care more customized. CST is the market leader in spinal implants, robotics, and navigation. Our integrated operating unit is comprised of 4 global businesses, Spine and Biologics, Enabling Technologies, intelligent Data Solutions (iDS) and China Cranial, Spinal, Orthopedics & Technologies.

  This role will support our Enabling Technologies Neurosurgery business, delivering an innovative portfolios that include advanced imaging , navigation (https://www.medtronic.com/us-en/healthcare-professionals/products/neurological/surgical-navigation-systems/stealthstation.html) , robotics (https://www.medtronic.com/us-en/patients/treatments-therapies/spinal-surgical-robotics.html) , customized implants, and pre-operative planning aided by artificial intelligence.

  A Day in the Life

  At Medtronic, the District Sales Manager, Enabling Technologies manages the achievement of unit and revenue goals for assigned therapy products in an assigned district. Assists the district and region in achieving overall assigned therapy product sales and marketing objectives. Neuroscience seeks candidates who will meet our customer expectations by striving without reserve for the greatest possible reliability and quality in our products, processes and systems by being accountable, having a voice, and taking action. Performs all duties in compliance with Quality System.

  This is a field-based role.

  Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve short and long-term business objectives: 10%

  • Utilize field visits and individual or group meetings and telephone contacts to: 50%

  Train and develop employees in sales skills, product knowledge, teamwork, time and territory management, competitive knowledge, and careergoals pursuits

  Coordinate sales efforts

  Communicate corporate, divisional, regional and/or district mission, goals and activities

  Direct and motivate personnel to achieve unit and revenue goals

  Provide ongoing feedback/coaching and regularly schedule performance reviews

  Implement corrective actions when necessary

  Assist employees with individual development plans (IDPs)

  Apply customer focused quality (CFQ) concepts

  • Provide overall management of district assets including: 10%

  Developing and managing budgets and forecasts

  Ensuring efficient, effective use of inventory and expenses

  Negotiating and resolving price and contract issues (with reps, accounts, regional management and home office personnel)

  • Coordinate efforts with sales reps and managers of other product lines to diversify and maximize overall Medtronic teamwork results: 10%

  • Develop ethical, long-term customer relationships and represent Medtronic management to customers: 10%

  • Recruit and interview candidates to maintain a strong personnel "bench," hire top candidates for open positions, and meet workplace diversity goals: 5%

  • Provide feedback of marketing intelligence to sales and marketing Management: 5%

  Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident in your applicant profile.

  Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant sales experience; or

  Advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant sales and leadership experience

  Nice to Have

  Experience selling Capital Equipment

  Experience with Robotics

  Successful medical sales record, preferably with Neuroscience products

  Experience with sales and personnel management functions

  Knowledge of Neuroscience assigned product/therapy customer base

  Additional experience in marketing, training, technical services or related areas

  * Preference will be given to local qualified candidates and candidates with Medtronic experience

  Must have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy. In addition, your driving record will be reviewed and will be considered as part of your application. Must be able to drive approximately 50% of the time within assigned territory and may require overnight travel.

  In addition to Base Salary, this position is eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), which provides the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding your goals. The base salary represents approximately 45% of the total target compensation. Incentive payout varies by product(s) sold, procedures(s) and /or achievement of sales revenue goals in an assigned geography.  Learn more about total rewards here .
