Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this position are managing daily delivery and receiving processes at the NNA distribution centers. These daily tasks would include review of delivery note data, shipping issues associated with affiliate and customer orders, and customer/sales/product management specific requests. • Seek out opportunities to improve logistics processes: outbound, inbound and inter company transportation management within the MSA region. • Ensure all functions are fully optimized to meet our customers' business requirements within the region, while driving improved customer satisfaction, improving delivery and reducing combined front-end logistics and transportation costs. • Collaborate, create, and share best practices within MSA Global Supply Chain and Logistics. • Optimize trade lanes (inbound and outbound) within the regional distribution space. • Seek out and implement cost down opportunities for MSA and strategic partners relating to the handling of materials and outbound transportation. • Manage relationships and cost impacts with third party distribution providers • Lead customer focused initiatives within the third-party distribution locations. • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize material handling within third party logistics locations. • Evaluate distribution layout and equipment needs as MSA's stocking portfolio evolves. • Provides technical and business process guidance, serving as a power user within the sales and distribution SAP Module. • Develop and implement processes improving on-time delivery, line fill rate and customer satisfaction enabling MSA to be recognized as a best-in-class supplier. • Continuously monitor key performance indicators for distribution and reverse logistics locations including Safety, People, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
Qualifications
Special knowledge, skills and abilities required: • Proven ability to model disciplined execution following detailed standard work, maintaining a high level of attention to detail, driving efficiency, productivity and personal accountability. • Demonstrated innovative and technological mindset to ensure master data integrity and accuracy, seek out latest industry trends, road-map future technology and champion early adoption. • Sound ability to make data driven and analytical decisions by identifying trends and opportunities, making problems visible, and utilizing financial acumen to justify investments and influence decisions. • Proven success in challenging the status quo to drive continuous improvement promoting the use of root cause problem solving, valuing new ideas, inspiring others, and demonstrating effective use of change management principles. • Proven success in building partnerships, influencing others, and communicating effectively both in verbal and written form, seeking diverse perspectives, and strong emotional intelligence to enable cross functional collaboration. Education & Experience required:Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business or other related discipline Level 1: Less than 2 years of planning, transportation, logist cs and/or purchasing experience.Level 2: 2-4 years of planning, transportation, logistics and/or purchasing experience. Education & Experience preferred: • Professional Certifications, CLTD, CPIM, or CSCP • Experience with SAP Sales and Distribution Module • Experience with Managing Cost Down and Customer Delivery Projects and Initiatives
