Overview
JOB PURPOSE:
The Distribution Center Supervisor manages daily planning, organizing, and operations of the Distribution Center. Functions include inventory management, order processing, picking, packaging, shipping, and receiving.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Supervise all warehouse activities and ensure employee compliance with protocols and standards.
• Fosters a high degree of morale among the team.
• Identify measures that can improve various warehouse processes with little to no additional financial burden.
• Monitor inventory to ensure sufficient levels on hand to fulfill orders. Work closely with the General Manager to ensure timely placement of Purchase Orders to Manufacturers.
• Utilize software, data, and analytics to optimize operations, track production metrics, and resolve issues or challenges.
• Provide the necessary equipment, tools, and training to staff to ensure safe, secure, and efficient operations.
• Supervise a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by a highly transactional or repetitive process.
• UPS, FedEx, and USPS shipping and equipment utilization
• Order processing, pick, package, and ship.
• Caters to customers’ needs while adhering to company policies. Ensures client satisfaction through efficient departmental activities. Will work with General Manager to develop Net Promoter Score to measure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years work experience showing progression and advancement within roles.
• Works collaboratively in a team environment and takes direction from General Manager.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Mid-level computer skills including logging on to systems, ability to communicate by
email, compose word documents, enter database information, download forms, and preserve/backup important data.
• Ability to operate electrically powered material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Capable of providing clear and concise direction to team members, provide additional coaching as required, hold staff accountable to their individual performance goals and the overall goals of the Distribution Center.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while paying strong attention to detail.
• Complies with all OSHA and other regulations, company policies, safety procedures, and documentation requirements.
