  The Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs (FDVA) seeks to hire talented and dedicated individuals who share our commitment to excellence. The incumbent in this position serves as a Distributed Computer Systems Consultant for the Agency and reports to a Distributed Computer Systems Analyst II – SES position.

  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  4+ Years’ experience working in a similar role with a Florida State Agency

  4+ Years’ experience supporting Azure Cloud, IaaS, and PaaS

  4+ Years’ experience supporting 5G+ wireless network

  4+ Years' experience configuring Juniper switches

  4+ Years' experience configuring MFA and SSO solutions

  Possess and maintain current driver’s license and have the ability to travel within the state of Florida

  Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs. of equipment

  Successful completion of a Level II Criminal Background Screening and due diligence process

  PREFERRED QUALIFCATIONS

  Bachelors Degree in Computer Science

  4+ Years’ experience of technical project management

  Annual Starting Salary: $57,951.80 - $58,108.70

  Starting salary will fall within the range of $57,951.80 - $58,108.70 and will depend upon the top candidate’s level of experience and education.

  Duties and Responsibilities:

  The incumbent in this position serves as the Distributed Computer Systems Consultant for the FDVA and is tasked with transitioning Infrastructure from on-premise to the Cloud. Configures and supports Cloud solutions for HQ, 13 large and many remote sites. Ensures 99.99% uptime. Recommends industry standard IaaS, PaaS, and wireless solutions to replace infrastructure hardware and configures all these items that might be a mixed vendor ecosystem. Configures and deploys Juniper switches across the state. Configures MFA and SSO for all applications and users who traverse the FDVA network.

  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position: Forward thinking individual with a passion for innovation and emerging technologies possessing the ability to digitally transform an antiquated ecosystem. Listens to what other people say and asks questions to assess and fit gaps needed for digital transformation. Analyzing needs and product requirements to create designs. Conducts tests to determine whether equipment, software, or procedures are operating as expected. Transitions environment to a Cloud-native DevSecOps architecture applying critical thinking, identifying long-term implications, implementation planning, equipment selection, and coordination training session agency wide. Ability to mentor fellow IT members appropriately.

  Ability to: Plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments; process information logically, troubleshoot and solve problems; work collaboratively or independently; communicate clearly-orally and in writing; display professional attitude in all circumstances; learn in a fast-paced environment; pay attention to detail; analyze and interpret technical

  data; act as a project technical stakeholder contributing to research and documentation. Ability to mentor fellow IT members appropriately.
