Starting Pay Rate: $19.41 per hour

　　Job Duties:

　　The successful candidate will be expected to:

　　Remain informed of disability regulations, policies, and community resources to provide information, referrals, and educational services.

　　Assist people with disabilities develop independent living goals/skills and encourage self-advocacy skills; Facilitate group activities.

　　Engage in outreach, presentations, and activities promoting disability rights and services on the local, state, and federal level.

　　Education:

　　A College Degree is preferred; a High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

　　Two years of experience working with people with disabilities.

　　Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and accessibility improvement, the Independent Living Movement, Social Security Administration, Department of Social Servies, disability rights legislation, educational advocacy including: IDEA/504 Plan / IEP process, and benefit programs: such as Medicaid, SNAP, HEAP.

　　Experience working with either aging populations/senior services, or youth services/educational advocacy.

　　Computer skills, including outlook and Microsoft programs.

　　Excellent customer service skills.
