Position Summary
This position is responsible for supervising the dirt & base crew and siteoperations to ensure the highest quality product and service. Supervises andcoordinates activities of workers engaged in fine grading and finishingsurfaces to be paved upon. This includes safety, quality, scheduling,logistics, equipment selection, personnel management and product placement.
ResponsibilitiesEnsures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies andprocedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the taskProvides overall on-site leadership on a construction project siteParticipates and promotes the safety cultureProvides direction, training and assistance to crew membersCommunicates with the customer to discuss any issues and let them know whattoexcept and inform the customer prior to performing and work beyond ourcontractual agreementCommunicates daily with Project Manager, Superintendent and Logistics todiscuss schedule, production and trucking needsCompletes paperwork including daily crew time sheets, daily site evaluationsheets, weekly toolbox safety meeting sheets and other required paperworkCommunicates and works effectively with state and local agencies;inspectors; contractors; subcontractors, company management and employeesResponsible for cleanliness and quality on the jobsiteCompletes projects in a safe, accurate and timely mannerOperates other heavy equipment and other construction related duties asrequiredKnowledge,Skills and AbilitiesMust be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habitsSelf-motivated and eager to learn new skillsPerform well in a "TEAM" environmentAbility to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistencyWilling to work hours that are associated to the construction industry,including overtime and weekends as neededCommunicate effectively, both written and verballyBasic mathematical skillsAbility to detect and solve problemsAbility to diagnose and communicate equipment issues.Valid driver license is requiredPass a pre-employment physical and drug screenMinimum Education and Experience3-5 years of industry experience requiredHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredWe are excited to share the base hourly range for this position is $30 -$38. The offered compensation will be determined based on factors such asgeographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies,skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta weplace a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensationfor those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The postedrange for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does notsolely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum ofthe range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growthopportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may notalign with internal equity.
