About Director, Sales Training and Development

  Kanes Furniture LLC, one of Florida's oldest and most respected home furnishing companies for over 75 years.

  We're seeking a talented Director of Sales Training and Development to join our team!

  POSITION PURPOSE

  You would be responsible for training our sales staff in sales techniques, sales systems and customer service. You'll identify education, training gaps and trends, create training programs, develop and conduct workshops, and provide ongoing coaching to improve overall sales performance. You will collaborate with our general managers to identify training needs, create and execute education and measure training effectiveness and outcomes. This position requires strong training and development skills, communication skills, in-depth knowledge of furniture products, cross-collaboration and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.

  You will be a close partner with our VP of Sales, Regional Sales Manager and General Managers to help develop and train our Sales Managers within stores. You will develop, train and coach sales managers. You will have a strong focus on developing leadership skills, driving sales performance, and improving operational effectiveness. This includes creating training programs, conducting workshops, and providing ongoing support to ensure that sales managers are equipped to lead their teams effectively.

  Your responsibilities also include collaborating with senior management to identify company training needs, monitoring the progress of sales managers, and implementing strategies to enhance overall sales performance across the organization.

  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  Assumes responsibility for training of sales talent within each of the store locations. a. Develops and implements training plans to include technical/functional needs of store employees. Designs training support material.

  b. Facilitates training sessions for either individually or collectively; within a classroom or within geographical area.

  c. Provides overall assessment of talent, training development and follow-up on the training progress.

  d. Gathers and summarizes training issues for Senior Management; to include store and individual

  Assessments; develops and communicates appropriate adjustments to training program to improve current KPI’s.

  e. Provides on-the-spot remedial training and coaching when visiting stores.

  Assumes responsibility for ensuring effective technical training to sales associates and sales managers a. Facilitates POS training to ensure sales associates understand the system from time of sale to completion and delivery of the sale.

  b. Works with Store management and Technology to identify where specific overall technical/system issues may be occurring and works to develop training modules to correct any organizational needs.

  Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with Company personnel and management.a. Assists and supports related departments as needed.

  b. Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant concerns.

  c. Attends and participates in meetings, vendor fairs and Product roll-out meetings as required.

  d. Completes progress reports on New hire sales associates

  Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.a. Completes miscellaneous training on Topics related to changes in SOP’s.

  b. Stays informed of changes in the sales field; suggest new ideas to the organization and any competitive issues.

  PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

  Training functions are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  Professional business relations exist within management and the organization. Questions, problems, and

  information needs are resolved courteously, effectively, and promptly.Required documentation, records, reports, and files are complete, accurate and up-to-date.

  Training presentations and supporting material are designed and maintained to ensure effective training.

  Management is informed of area activities and of any significant concerns.

  QUALIFICATIONS

  Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree business or a related field desirable

  Required Knowledge: Knowledge of POS systems, procedures, policies and products

  Thorough understanding of sales and practices in improving sales techniques, policies and procedures

  Ability to analyze talent, train and coach to successful outcomes

  Knowledge of learning methods, training practices and techniques

  Experience Required: Related experience preferred

  Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication and public relations abilities
