What you'll do The Director, Revenue Cycle reports to the VP, Revenue Cycle and serves as a member of the Bassett Healthcare Network management operations team and is responsible for enhancing and maintaining a properly functioning corporate revenue cycle operation across the Bassett Healthcare Network. This position is responsible for oversight of the Revenue Cycle function currently outsourced to OPTUM. In addition, the Director, Revenue Cycle is responsible for meeting the network’s cash collection goals, appraising, forecasting and determining desired actions to achieve goals and objectives of the network, execution and delivery of revenue cycle services and programs, and to manage the receivables in a prudent manner in order to optimize net realizable value. Under the direction of the VP, Revenue Cycle responsible to support the daily operations of all assigned revenue cycle functions, including but not limited to billing, follow-up and collections, cash posting, denial management, credit balance reviews and coding. Under the direction of the VP, Revenue Cycle, targets revenue recovery throughout the organization by identifying charge capture, coding, and reimbursement problems, then recommending/implementing solutions to achieve AO performance goals. Develop, redesign, and monitor key performance indicators including payer mix, A/R, collection rates, adjustments, bad debt write-off, estimated collections, appeal success rates, and other requested parameters to achieve system performance goals as assigned. Establish and maintain departmental policies and procedures. Communicate relevant information to other departments. Establish controls and review mechanisms to ensure procedures are being followed correctly. Monitor A/R effectively and ensure aging categories are within established goals and national benchmarks and verifies collection processes are being followed. Assisting the VP, Revenue Cycle to maximize the collection of medical services payments and reimbursements from patients, insurance carriers, financial aid, and guarantors. In conjunction with operations, reviews and enhances insurance verification, coding review, billing, collection, and payment posting processes for efficiency and best practices; ensures systems are fully functional and maximized and recommend new processes to improve current work-flow. Monitors daily productions of billings, denials, and appeals. Reviews, monitors, and recommends updates to the medical practices’ fee schedule to maintain fees at levels that maximize reimbursement. Ensures compliance with relevant federal, state, and payor-specific billing requirements. Regularly provides upper management with revenue cycle status including reports, metrics, and presentation. At all times, will comply with authorizations and limits established and approved by the President & CEO and Chief Financial Officer, and in certain areas, ratified and approved by the relevant Board such as signatory authority. Through delegated authority from President & CEO and Chief Financial Officer, shall enforce administrative, financial regulatory compliance, and human resources policies. Monitors compliance with policies, procedures, and plans, and institutes corrective action as needed, to ensure job methods are within acceptable standards for the Network. Pay Range Minimum: USD $109,200.00/Yr. Pay Range Maximum: USD $163,779.20/Yr.
