  JOB SUMMARY

  The Director, Property Management Systems & Business Process (Accounting + Payment Operations), is a member of the Global Property Management Systems (GPMS) team and will support the implementation of Property Management System (PMS) solutions and strategies. This position is part of the Global Operations (GO) department, which is responsible for taking ideas into implementation across all brands, disciplines, and continents and will report to the Senior Director, Global Property Management Systems.

  The Director will design, develop, and support the PMS strategy for accounting and payment operations, including cashiering and night audit. This position will coordinate, plan, and implement all requirements to achieve integration and business results focused on the future PMS strategy. This position will provide subject matter expertise for PMS functionality focused on financial management, including system and operational subject matter expertise relating to business processes, user experience, interfacing enterprise systems, with a focus on financial interfaces. This resource will develop and document business processes, operational procedures, policies, and best practices for PMS and participate in requirements, design, testing, and deployment of the future PMS strategy.

  CANDIDATE PROFILE

  Education and Experience

  Required:

  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related field appropriate to work of the position; OR related work experience;

  • 8+ years of hotel accounting or audit experience or other relevant experiences using property management systems

  • Experience with technology initiatives and processes needed to support delivery and ongoing support

  • Strong project management skills

  • Solid ability to manage multiple stakeholders

  • Strong oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal and leadership skills; able to collaborate effectively with others in a cross-functional team

  • Previous leadership experience and managing a team of associates

  Preferred :

  • Experience with LightSpeed, Opera, FSPMS, FOSSE

  • Experience with the day-to-day financial operations in a hospitality environment

  • On-Property hotel experience

  • Experience working with external finance/accounting service providers

  • Strong analytical skills to ground decision making and problem solving

  • Confident ability to present to large and executive level audiences

  • Strong technology aptitude

  • Experience working with international teams and supporting global systems and operational processes

  • Strong process management, negotiating, influencing, and problem resolution skills

  • Ability to problem-solve and leverage resources to optimize department capabilities

  CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  Leads design + development of the future PMS Strategy

  • Provides system and operational subject matter expertise in the future PMS strategy relating to business processes, operational processes, interfacing enterprise systems, new property openings, conversions, and future acquisitions.

  • Participates in assessment of PMS impacts related to new initiatives, enhancement to PMS, or integration with related enterprise programs

  • Provides operational input into future system enhancements and integration designs to ensure operational requirements are met

  • Develops and documents business processes, operational procedures, policies, and best practices for PMS

  • Represents the PMS team with Continent IT, Continent Lodging Services (CLS) and Opening + Transitions Teams

  • Participates in requirements, design approvals, UAT, Beta, Pilots, and supporting the deployment of the future PMS strategy

  • Partners with stakeholders of other disciplines to identify operational needs, review and prioritize enhancements and integrations, and ensure that specifications are met

  PMS and Operations Business Process Subject Matter Expertise

  • Participates in managing ad providing subject matter expertise for new initiatives with future PMS system impacts and/or dependencies

  • Provides PMS subject matter expertise and support to new brand acquisitions

  • Partners with Marriott’s Finance, Accounting, and Payment business partners and stakeholders to provide expertise and ensure alignment to the PMS strategy

  • Partners with Marriott’s service providers

  • Analyzes operational impacts of new initiatives or enhancements and works with business partners to determine action plans to ensure future PMS strategy success

  • Provides operational input and review for financial, accounting, and payment operations PMS communications related to business processes and system configuration.
