job summary:
JOB SUMMARY:
Provides information management services for the company to maximize the effectiveness of
data collection, processing, and reporting. Defines and solves user requirements utilizing.
information system team, develops and implements computer applications and solutions.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Consults with management to determine information requirements of management or engineers to determine boundaries and priorities of new projects and to discuss system capacity and equipment acquisitions.
Confers with department heads involved with proposed projects to ensure cooperation and further define nature of project.
Consults with outside computer consultants on system hardware needs.
Prepares progress reports to inform management of project status and deviation from goals.
Oversees IT for Detroit, Mexico, and France facilities.
Contracts with management specialists, technical personnel, or vendors to solve system related problems.
Revises computer operating schedule to introduce new program testing and operating runs.
Analyzes department workflow and job duties to recommend reorganization or departmental realignment within company.
Negotiates all maintenance contracts of computer hardware/software equipment.
Communicates with the Company president on computer hardware/software needs.
Develops cost estimates on computing equipment with outside vendors and/or consultants.
Writes computer program applications within the Organization as needed.
Recommends to the President all purchases of computer equipment.
Remains informed on the latest developments within the computer (computing) field.
Oversees corporate telecommunications by evaluating new systems if needed, maintaining existing systems, negotiating with outside vendors as needed.
Overall awareness and understanding that Hope Global operates within the EMS 14001 & QMS 16949 management systems.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
BS/BA in computer science or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience:
Ten or more years of experience managing an information systems department.
Solid technical knowledge and experience in the use and application of the most current technologies and products used in the industry.
International experience
Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
