  Position Summary:

  Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Director of Finance for Clinical Programs and Services – Boca Raton, FL.

  Summary of Responsibilities:

  In consultation with the Associate Dean of Clinical Practice and Memory and Wellness Center’s (MWC) Director, administers MWC and FAU Community Health Center (CHC) operating budget, including approval of payroll and purchases, to assure timely distribution of funds as well as conformity to approved fiscal limits. Responsibilities also include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.

  Resolves all financial and HR issues independently and provides oversight of financial staff at MWC.

  Monitors all financial transaction functions for any new projects, research related and/or satellite or building expansions.

  Completes and oversees the financial management of all funds, including state, grant, auxiliary and foundation accounts.

  Provides the required accountability reporting and operational for FAU's Clinical Practice Organization as related to the Memory and Wellness Center and Community Health Center and oversees related billing services for the Centers.

  Prepares and develops monthly and quarterly financial operating reports for all funds.

  Interface with the billing company to ensure compliance with audit procedures. Monitor accounts receivable and forecast trends for the Memory and Wellness Center and Community Health Center.

  Prepares all financial materials for the annual independent Clinical Practice Organization (CPO) audit for the Memory and Wellness Center (MWC) and the FAU/Northwest Health Community Alliance Community Health Center (CHC).

  Creates policies and procedures to better prepare for the following year's audit.

  Coordinates the administrative functions of fundraising events to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of work.

  Supports and oversees financial activities and monthly financial reports for the Caring Hearts (volunteer fundraising entity for MWC) and the Community Health Center Board of Directors and the Dean of the College of Nursing. Evaluates and makes appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization.

  Oversees the maintenance of centers’ records and files, such as personnel, purchases, student employees, inventory, contracts and grants, accounting, and time and effort reports to conform to procedures and assist improper functioning of centers’ effectiveness.

  Conducts reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.

  Creates and processes hiring positions, p-cards expenses reports, spend authorization requests, travel expense reports, budget amendments, payroll adjustments, pay period activity pay, creates receipts and processes invoices, records accrual expenses, records CPO deposits, analyzes and monitors the accuracy of the auxiliary, Grant and Foundation reports posted in the system, billing reports.

  Preparation and management of personnel contracts, certification of payroll and resolution of discrepancies with payroll. Maintains various internal databases for personnel contracts and grant awards and submission for the Centers.

  Works closely with Division of Research to ensure MWC proposals are submitted in a timely manner. Handles the post award process for grant awards to MWC and monitors spending in the accounts. Responsible for reviewing effort certification reports for MWC grant personnel.

  Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

  Minimum Qualifications:

  Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six (6) years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and eight (8) years of appropriate experience required.

  Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

  Master's or bachelor's degree specialization of Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.

  Salary:

  $70,000 - $80,000 per year.
