We seek a highly skilled and experienced Director of Cyber Security to join our HCSO team. As the Director of Cyber Security, you will play a critical role in protecting our organization's valuable assets from cyber threats and will be the primary contact for local, state, and federal partners for cybersecurity. You will develop and implement comprehensive strategies to safeguard our systems, networks, and data.
This role works onsite and in person with internal customers in downtown Cincinnati and other Sheriff's Office locations throughout Hamilton County. No relocation assistance is offered.
Duties:
Develop, implement, and lead a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy, including policies, procedures, controls, and guidelines.Lead the incident response team in investigating and responding to cybersecurity incidents.Evaluate and audit the effectiveness of cybersecurity measures and lead and recommend improvements.Stay current with the latest cyber security threats and trends and conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses to safeguard our organization proactively.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure cyber security is integrated into all aspects of the HCSO.Manage relationships with external vendors and local, state, and federal partners to enhance HCSO's cyber security capabilities.Provide training to employees on cybersecurity awareness and best practices.Provide guidance, recommendation, and support to various Divisions of the HCSO or other stakeholders.Provide regular reports and present updates on the status of the cybersecurity program to the Chief Technology Officer or other stakeholders.Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (master's degree preferred).At least ten years of experience in cybersecurity in a complex organization with a proven track record of success.4+ years' experience as an incident responder, SOC analyst, technical lead, and manager.Strong knowledge of industry best practices, standards, regulations (such as ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, CJIS, FIPS), and compliance requirements.Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are highly desired.US Government clearance is preferred but not required.Skills:
Experience developing, implementing, and documenting cybersecurity policies, procedures, and guidelines from the ground up.Experience leading incident response teams, conducting risk assessments, and developing mitigation plans.In-depth understanding of network security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM).Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Join our team and contribute to protecting our organization's critical assets.
