The Director of Business Development will be responsible for development of business cases, manage due diligence processes, assess external opportunities, develop strategic plans, and support business development programs in order to execute M&A, equity investment, licensing and development transactions to drive growth, strengthen competitiveness and create value for Johnson & Johnson.
Responsibilities:
Develops and executes strategies to identify, assess, and pursue new business opportunities through M&A, licensing and equity investment.
Develops external innovation pipelines, through landscape assessment to identify potential new business opportunities.
Performs financial and market analysis as part of business cases for opportunities, including leading the vetting and validation of ideas and opportunities.
Negotiates and closes deals and integrates assets into J&J.
Performs financial and strategic analysis to support Business Development programs, including post-acquisition analysis, deal committee and other BD requests, as needed.
Qualifications
Education:
BS or BA in a technical discipline such as Business, Marketing or Engineering
Required:
A minimum of 10 years relevant experience, preferably in a medical device, pharmaceutical company or biotech firm is required
Strong multi-disciplinary skills in marketing, marketing research, financial analysis, strategic planning is required
Demonstrated success in identifying and developing new market and business opportunities assessments, conducting diligence and executing business development deals
A demonstrated success in developing and managing strategic relationships to accomplish business objectives
Must be able to do up to 25% travel
Preferred:
An MBA is strongly preferred
Medical device and orthopedics experience
Experience at a large multinational healthcare organization
Management/Supervisory experience
