The Director of Buildings, Grounds and Transportation under the direction of the Vice President of Administrative Services, is responsible for coordinating and supervising general maintenance repairs and the upkeep of buildings, grounds, equipment, and fleet. They will oversee the creation, upkeep, and quality control of a database of capital projects, large purchases, and appliances for tracking, reporting, budgeting, and project management.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implements and manages electronic maintenance tracking and workflow system with clear and timely communication and transparency.
Assists planning for and development of capital budgets.
Oversees fleet management, supporting distribution and maintenance timeliness.
Participates in interview process, hiring decisions, and ensuring all staff is held accountable to all policies and procedures.
Assigns the work of maintenance employees, and provides hands on support, guidance and mentoring as appropriate.
Inspects all work performed in house or contracted for quality and completeness.
Determines material, equipment, and supplies to be used. Coordinates flow of equipment and personnel from one project to another as priorities dictate.
Ensures that each facility is in compliance with OSHA rules and regulations.
Installs, inspects, repairs, and maintains the electrical, plumbing, mechanical and other related systems in all locations.
Coordinates renovations of existing facilities and the construction of new facilities, including site search and real estate relationship building.
Maintains contract expiration and assists in facilitating the bidding process for all contract work to optimize pricing and quality of outcome.
Tracks warrantees, to prevent unnecessary expenditure.
Ensures schedules for fire drills, fire alarms, fire safety, smoke detectors and fire extinguishers are met.
Participates in monthly operations meeting and supply work order information as requested.
Maintains an ongoing database of capital repairs and investments including major appliances.
JOB TYPE: Full-time
SHIFT: Monday – Friday 8:30a-4:30p
SALARY: $90,000.00-$110,000.00 (Exempt)

Requirements
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED at a minimum, bachelor’s degree preferable.
10+ years’ experience in general maintenance with 5+ years of supervisory experience.
Licensing or formal education in HVAC, Plumbing or Electrician fields.
Proficiency in using computer systems.
Valid NYS driver’s license
*All hires must possess a valid NYS Driver’s License at the time of hire.
